The majority of the striking 1,500 miners at Zambia's Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), a unit of London-listed Vedanta Resources Plc resumed work on Friday, allaying fears of huge output losses, the company said.
KCM spokesman Rahur Kharkar, said operations at the tailings leach plant, Nchanga underground mine and the concentrator had resumed after the employees reported back for work.
"The situation is absolutely normal. More than 90% of the workers have reported back for work," Kharkar told Reuters.
